High Performance Buildings - The Crucial Role of IT (London, King's College)
Tuesday 30th September 2008King's College, London
This workshop was based on two recently published guides to high performance buildings in universities and colleges. The first half summarised the key messages of the reports, and provided practical examples from within and outside the sector. The second half examined the crucial role of ICT in creating both more efficient buildings, and a more satisfactory user experience. It particularly focused on next generation Building Management Systems, and the role of Internet Protocol based building services.
The event featured a presentation from Ave Maria University, a new institution in Florida which is seen as a ‘leading edge' intelligent campus in the US. The University says that this has created significant space, cost and energy savings.
